Lord of the Flies – Jack Promises Food

If you did not start at the beginning please go back to the introduction.

Jack Promises Food

Jack plays on the boy’s hunger and sways half of them to join his side.  Their allegiance is sealed by painting each other’s face and body in tribal paint with plant material found on the island.  Jack promises they will kill and slaughter a fat pig he has spotted on the island.  Some boys are not convinced about the hunt, but they are thrilled at the prospect of covering themselves in body paint.
