Lord of the Flies Inspired Photoshoot

Ralph Promises Shelter

Lord of the Flies,  a 1954 novel by Nobel British author William Golding.

I am pleased to present my own photographic interpretation of this amazing story.  In this version a group of 9 Thai Boy Scouts are stranded on an island in Thailand due to their passenger ferry capsizing in the Gulf of Thailand.  These 9 boys are the only survivors.

If you did not start at the beginning please go back to the introduction.

Ralph Promises Shelter

Ralph locates a fallen tree and promises the younger children this is a promising beginning of a fine shelter to keep them safe from the elements.  He rationally describes the various elements at play such as weather and predators.  Both Jack’s and Ralph’s platforms have merit and it is difficult to chose sides.  As a natural diplomat, Ralph invites Jack and the other boys to inspect the shelter.  While inside they are startled by some sounds nearby.  Jack loudly proclaims this is the pig he has already seen and demands his hunting party get to work.
