Amsterdam!!!

 

Welcome to one of my favorite cities in the world. This was my third trip to Amsterdam. I love it so much. The people there are more open-minded than any people I've ever met. The Dutch are well known for their tolerance which is due in part to verzuiling (pillarisation), the custom of dividing society into compartments or pillars which, although separate from each other, support society as a whole. San Francisco follows the same pattern. In other words, the gays represent one area, the artsy people another, etc. It is really nice.

This trip to Amsterdam was more of a starting point for the whole journey more than anything else, but I did manage to get around and meet some people and see a few sights. I finally visited the Hash Museum!
